"Paul Harvey may have been the first conservative radio voice whose popularity spread countrywide. His deep voice and staccato delivery with a rhythm of its own was his signature. Unlike today’s voices, he projected style and grace that would mask his rapier wit and keen mind. This short audio clip also displays his prescient insights, describing 50+ years ago the world in which we now live. Sobering".
True but the 60's also were a turbulent time, maybe a different enemy but I remember the Bay of Pigs and being very scared and also the six day war was very scary for us at the time. Both of these incidences had people stocking up and I remember being very afraid. We didn't have school for a few days in the Bay of Pigs. Also the race riots in all the major cities in the late 60's. The Vietnam war, JFK and MLK assassinations, the Cold War and on and on. Hippies, free love, sex, and plenty of drugs.
