If you were the opposite gender than you happen to be, what occupations do you think you would have had.
I was wondering what I might have liked to do.

I think in my youth I would have liked to be a carpenter. I like to creat things.

I rode a motorcycle for three years, so I think I would have liked to know more about how the mechanics of things worked. I like things that follow a logical pattern.

I think as far as an education went I would have studied Animal Husbandry and Agriculture.

I think I would have joined one of the military branches, because I believe we all owe a debt to the country that supports us.

Of course it is all imagination, but who do you think you might have been?

I would have been an astronaut. Hopefully, the first woman on Mars. :)

ooops! If I was the opposite sex, I would be a man.

There are women astronauts and carpenters.....I can't think of any occupation that isn't open to both genders...maybe some based on strength and priests but I don't want to be a priest anyway.

Military and mechanics don't appeal to me either. Guess I wouldn't want to be a male for anything. I really can't think of an occupation that I would enjoy that can't be done by women.

@Chrissy Page when I wanted to do those things, it was back in the 60's and 70's. Here in Texas, machoism was a big thing back then, and girls/women were were ridiculed for such goals. Or we were accused of being lesbians. My father had very definite ideas of what the rolls of women and men were supposed to aspire to.

Although my dad was very strict his views on education and male/female roles were open minded. He wanted his daughters to be whatever we desired and wasn't very happy that I dropped out of college and married.

He never let me forget that.

Me? I would love to be both, concurrently! Yer basic prevert today referred to as "sexually challenged", therefore deserving of special governmental support, likely funded from the S/S monies.....

What a marvelous way to expand upon one's sexuality while having it paid for by others.

    Think I'm bigoted?

I am the youngest in a brood of 12 with 8 brothers so you can guess that I have been influenced by the men in my family. We have 3 jockeys and the rest were horse trainers except for 1 who did not follow that line. So maybe if I were male, I would have been a race horse jockey and maybe I would be good at that because my oldest brother was a star jockey in his heyday.

Its a great question Ina - but whether male or female, I would have to be on the stage singing and dancing :D
Backstage would have been OK too

@Patsy Faye I'm with you on the dancing. Actually it my late twenties I was a ballroom and counrty competitive dancer. As a child, I loved to sing, until someone recorded in with one of those little old tape recorders back in the late 60's. I couldn't believe the voice I heard was mine. Now I only sing in my car while driving by myself, and my body screams if I even think of dancing.
