Perhaps a good time to re-tell a story which might have had very serious adverse affects (on my eyesight). Phoenix MetroCenter Mall had a "ring-road" encircling the main parking area; Sears Auto Center was out beyond that road. They had called me with some electrical problem to the Auto Center; I worked afternoons and nights. Waiting to cross the ring road on foot for a car approaching, suddenly a deluge of liquid was flung in my face from the rear window of the car! It was travelling at a slow speed, and I saw the car was full of apparent young hooligans. I heard laughter at my plight as it drove by. Frightened of what the liquid could have been (acid, perhaps, as my eyes were burning), I swore and waved my fist, the laughter increasing.

Deciding not to simply accept such behavior, I watched as the car, now almost at the far end of the mall, turned in to park. I walked over there, by now dusk was impending, went past the car, which was empty. I figgered the juveniles had gone in to the skating rink inside.

When they returned to their car, it had 4 flat tires, mysteriously, unrepairable due to multiple side-wall punctures. Just for curiosity sake, I returned somewhat later, driving by in my own car so as not to be recognized, and all of them were sitting about on fenders and hood, evidently awaiting help from "Daddy", I supposed. I've wondered if they had sense enough to unravel the cause for their dilemma.

Next day, I quietly told my Supervisor. Somewhat shocked to learn that his mild-mannered Maintenance guy would do anything so grievous, he half-smiled picturing the scene, and said, "You really shouldn't have done that".
