I can't find a video or free recording of this. The lyrics are spot-on for these days. You think that you're so smart But you don't have a *obscenity-ing* clue What those men up in the towers Are doing to me and you While you were sleeping They came and took it all away The lanes and the meadows The places where you used to play It was an inside job By the well-connected Your little protest Summarily rejected It was an inside job Like it always is Chalk it up to business as usual While we are dreaming This little island disappears While you are looking the other way They'll take your right to own your own ideas And it's an inside job Favors collected Your trusted servants Have left you unprotected It was an inside job Like it always is Just chalk it up To business as usual You think that you're so smart But you don't have a *obscenity-ing* clue What those men up in the towers Are doing to me and you And they'll keep doin' it and doin' it And doin' it and doin' it And doin' it and doin' it And doin' it and doin' it Until we all wake up Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up I know what I've done wrong I am acquainted with the night I know how hard it is To always walk out in the light And it's an inside job To learn about forgiving It's an inside job To hang on to the joy of living They know the road by which you came They know your mother's maiden name And what you had for breakfast And what you've hidden in the mattress Insect politics Indifferent universe Bang your head against the wall But apathy is worse It's an inside job It's an inside job
re "insect politics" Note that without insects the planet would die. Without people the world would recover from being severely over-polluted and would thrive. Without politics...... people might get a chance at least once to put their trust in the Creator from Whom All Life Comes instead of continually trusting in the flesh/ men of the world or demons/ and beind continually cursed. Everyone's been born into this evil generation. Escaping the wickedness is rare and only possible by God's Grace.
Any protest gets .... well, reduced to ashes, or replaced with ineffective goggly-gook double double speak. Think taking something up via an appeal to someone or some office 'higher' than the problem seen? As if it could be properly and rightly corrected ? Just find more at every level and realize it is all futile in man's systems >
The original song is Leave No Millionaire Behind. I honestly don't think mere millionaires are the problem. It's the sociopathic billionaires on this planet that are trying to kill us. This song is twenty years old but it is describing the now. I loved it the first time I heard it that long ago. Pierce Woodward wrote many political tunes and kept up a diatribe against the wealthy of the world. This song is from the album of the same name. I couldn't find the lyrics online so I took time to record them by listening. It took a good while and there may be some mistakes. There are some differences between the two versions. The link is to an excellent cover by Childsplay. I like both versions a lot. Maybe you will, too. The submarines are stationed All the allies are aligned The olive trees were stolen from the banks of Palestine Look it over from the inside Take a breath, relax the mind And the things that we are seeking we will find In the city folks are banging pots and spoons from balconies Cause the Pennsylvania police are bewildered and diseased But the journalist on death row is refusing to resign And the power and the glory will revive Leave no millionaire behind, boys, leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind The styrofoam is mixed in with aluminum and glass The economists have spoken so we're truckin' out the trash The water tastes like copper All the filters quickly clog And our lungs are full of freshener and smog Leave no millionaire behind, boys, leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind The inspector says he doesn't think he trusts the engineers We're sleeping by the fire 'cause we're told that danger's near Mesmerized by burdens, mesmerized by fear We are waiting for a hero to appear Leave no millionaire behind, boys, leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind But our children's eyes can see what we so long could not Beyond a crooked mile the perpetrators were all caught Through a haze of trouble the sky starts to clear Beyond the littered land we're breathin' clear Leave no millionaire behind, boys, leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind I'll get yours if you get mine, we'll leave no millionaire behind
