My son in law just left for Mrytle Beach last night for a week, he goes every year to play in a golf tournament. Seems the weather is always an issue around this time of year, don't know why it's held there. This may be a segue but this thread reminded me of the recent news that typhoons were passing by but not hitting our country. The newscaster even joked that the typhoons may be trying to avoid us. It's already September and we still have to experience a strong typhoon so it is scary to think that the typhoon is just gathering strength and might hit us in the last quarter, more likely in October and November. In 2009, we were hit by excessive rains that left Metro Manila submerged in floodwater, that was September.
