Is anyone here still raising a child at the age of fifty or older? I was still raising a child (my nephew) at 60, so it's possible that some of you are. I adopted my son when I was in my early 20s, and took in my nephew when I was in my fifties, so maybe that's a little unusual. But then, I was single until I was 48, so maybe I'm strange.

No but I have let two of my sons live with me when hard times hit them. Both with children.

I did not have children those years ago, but always along the way of life
I had close friends with children, and to which I could make a nice bond,
at the same time not raising them though.

When I was in my 30s I raised my nephew. He was palmed off on me so many times hungry, not very clean clothes, a bottle of cold water in the winter mornings, no gloves and a dirty pushchair. So I raised him, and because he looks like his mum who is my sister he looks like me, so if people thought he was mine I'd let them think that, that way he didn't face awkward questions as he got older. His mum preferred to do drugs and alcohol instead of putting his welfare first.
