Oh how I wish I had written the words that were expressed by Trey Gowdy in reference to our president being unfair to those transgenders who wish to join the military. It’s a good read and to some, it may even be offensive but to me, it’s perfect ______________________________________________________________ Question: How can President Trump claim to represent all U.S citizens, regardless of sexual orientation, when he banned transgenders from joining the military? Isn't that discrimination? Trey Gowdy's Response: "Nobody has a right to serve in the Military. Nobody! What makes you people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? It is very far from it - and for good reasons - let me cite a few. The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short. Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers." He went on to explain: "By the way, poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identification as a Unicorn? Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair? Can't run the required course in the required time? Can't do the required number of push-ups? Not really a morning person? and refuse to get out of bed before noon? All can be legitimate reasons for denial. The Military has one job: Winning War. Anything else is a distraction and a liability. Did someone just scream, that isn't fair? War is VERY unfair, there are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful. YOU must change yourself to meet Military standards and not the other way around. I say again: You don't change the Military - you must change yourself. The Military is not about being fair, it is about taking advantage of others and about winning. The Military doesn't need to accommodate anyone with special issues. The Military needs to Win Wars and keep our Country safe - PERIOD! If any of your personal issues are a liability that detract from readiness, Thank you for applying and good luck in future endeavors. Any other questions?

My biggest objection would be the transgenders wanting to join the military to get medical benefits to pay for their "reconstruction." I suppose I believe that if any person is physically and mentally fit enough and want to serve, they should be allowed to do so but should receive no special consideration of any kind. In a similar transgender rights discussion, one thing that truly bothers me is a trans female (MAN) competing in physical athletics and beating normal women. Is there any honor in that, truly? And why is that "fair" to the normal woman who is competing? (And if someone has a problem with my use of "normal," you'll have to get over it. )
I totally agree. The boys will never win by competing with others of their own gene pool so they have to cheat. That said, I’ll even go it one stretch further. Women and girls who are in the process of transgendering have to take massive doses of testosterone which to me, disqualifies them from competitive athletics between other females. One case in point was a high school girl who won a state (I can’t remember all the details) championship in female wrestling. If one is caught dirty using steroids then they are disqualified but dose up with testosterone and it’s: My bad, you’re in the transgender process. You win. Without the added cocktail, the girl might have won anyway but no one will ever know. Perhaps we should have the “rainbow military” and “rainbow athletics”. No, then I’d have to pay for the military part and uh-uh, it ain’t happnin’!
I think the issue is just a ploy to drag Trump into a controversial issue that isn't worth the debate. The small percentage who would actually join would quickly be weeded out by their peers.
