Shirley you are not Islamophobic a phobia is a fear of something which is not proven to harm you. I could list the Islamist terror that is going on around the world but this forum is not big enough. It is a phobia to be afraid of snakes because you do not know which one will kill you. It might be different if you knew which one can kill you. Getting back to Islam if they would identify them selves in some way which is not going to happen than you would know when to be afraid.

"P.C." trends have delivered many to the verge of paranoia, IMO.

Given that there are Muslims who would kill you just because you're not a Muslim, a fear of Muslims is not a phobia. Believing that every Muslim is out to kill you would be a problem, if only because you'd be very wrong. We don't even have to argue whether most Muslims would do this because it only takes one, and we know that there are a lot of them who would. Certainly, not all Muslims are a threat. We don't have any Muslims, that I know of, in this part of Maine, so I can't say that I have close friends who are Muslims, but I have worked with Muslims during the Ron Paul campaign, and while I was living in Fayetteville, who I am quite sure were not plotting my death. Sure, there are white people who might kill me too, but I think the numbers favor the Muslims as a more likely enemy.

Along the same lines, I don't for one moment believe that black people, as a whole, are out to kill me, since I am related to some of them and hold others as friends, but there are a whole lot of black neighborhoods around the country where I wouldn't live, and where I think that a fear of being killed might be reasonable. I don't believe this is a phobia either, or even racist, but I suppose that would depend on how wide of a definition you'd want to place on "racism." There are white neighborhoods I wouldn't want to move to also.
