Today, I was watching a video about things you can do with your library card, besides just checking out books or movies, and I discovered that there is an app/website called Kanopy that has a lot of movies that you can watch for free, just by logging in with your library card. Naturally, I downloaded the app, put in my library information, and there were all of the movies ! I have not even tried finding a movie yet, but you can search like you would with Netflix or any other movie website, and you get points each month to watch movies.. I haven’t read everything yet, but apparently, that means you can’t just watch unlimited movies each month, but you can watch movies until you use up all of your points for that month, and then the next month , you start over with the same allowance of points (they do not carry over from month to month). I still have to finish watching the video to see what else I can do with the library card, but here is a link to the video.
Thanks Yvonne! Good to know. I know my library system has lots of good movies that I probably couldn't find online, at least without subscribing to a streaming service, so I'll be giving this a try.
