. . . And now I've gone off listening to one Johnny Cash song after another, which is good way to spend the rest of the day!

There was some thought that the judge would do a directed verdict, as the jury has been so over whelmed by evidence and testimony that contradicts the prosecution's case, but I think he and everyone on the jury are afraid of being the target of mob violence after the trial. The was someone caught taking pictures of the jurors while the trial was underway. The thought is that they plan to target the jury if the verdict goes the way they don't like. That is not the rule of law either.

Since I've not read anything anywhere about anyone threatening the judge and jury in this case, I'm wondering what specific sites this information came from.

My point in citing AP as a moderate and objective news service was to give relief from the fearmongering and fantastical accusations flying from both The Right and The Left. But if no one wants to take that welcome drink of cool water, there's not much anyone can do.

There have been no direct threats that I know about, but knowing what has been done in other places, there are those that assume the same will happen. I think the police chief in Seattle was forced from her job for her own safety as mobs gathered around her house. Similar things have happened in Minneapolis and elsewhere.

When this first happened I watch the You Tube clips showing the shootings and thought it was a clear case of self defense.

After a while I saw that You Tube and face book censored these clips and some of the Media started to vilify Kyle calling him an assassin and a racist.

Thank God for People like Dice and others who are true Americans who hold this Lefties to account.

Trying to stay center line is pretty rough for me considering the fact that throughout the whole riot scene I have made a couple of distinct observations that thus far haven’t been mentioned which brings about a philosophical dilemma.
    1. The mayor did very little if anything of substance to prevent the destruction of the city.
    2. The Governor did the same as the Mayor; essentially nothing
    3. The good taxpaying citizens of that city did nothing to protect the downtown area and businesses from being ransacked and destroyed.
    4. I have seen no trials where the prosecutor charged multiple people with arson, shoplifting, rioting, assault, theft, etc.
    5. Kyle was 17 years old; the same age I was when I entered the military and whether misguided or not, to me it looked like he was the ONLY person who was there to do a little good when I know there were hundreds of big, brave men hiding and saying, “I coulda, shoulda, woulda”. I’m sure the bars were filled with such chest thumpers.

As far as the “Rule of Law” goes, the scales cannot be tipped because one crime is supposedly greater than another. Every person in that riot should have been brought up on charges and not just the one whose crime involved the taking of a life.
And, there’s another side to the whole schmear. If Kyle hadn’t been there he wouldn’t be facing what he’s facing but then again, if the good citizens had been out there in force preventing the rioters from ransacking the, city the whole scenario would have changed.

One last thing: Mayor LaGuardia had to fill in for a judge during night court and a man was brought before him for stealing a loaf of bread. He pronounced a sentence on the man, suspended it and then charged everyone in the courtroom 25 cents (or some small amount) a piece and gave the money to the man stating that no one should have to steal a loaf of bread in order to have food.

Perhaps the good citizens of Kenosha need to be charged for allowing rioters to tear their city apart? Perhaps a lesson has been learned that when most people turn their backs there will always be at least one who will not and that person will generally be the one who is persecuted.
Then again, probably not. It’s always someone else’s job to protect and serve.

I hope they don't, but I am afraid that the jury is going to convict him on a lesser charge as a compromise to appease the political left, rather than as a measure of justice.

Apologizing in advance for posting this article, which I find both hilarious and ironically valid, but I couldn't resist! With closing arguments being given today, the last moment of relevance for this particular joke has arrived.

He should have never been charged. No investigation was done prior to charging. It was just part of the takeover by the fascist coup that nows rules the USA. Whatever happens, won't be justice because he should have never been arrested and served time in jail. A great injustice and total failure of the legal system has occurred and continues to get worse.

The judge has been reading instructions to the jury for at least a half hour, making editing corrections as he reads. I feel sorry for the jury trying to make sense of it.

Why are a bunch of fools running around with guns in the first place? At least Rittenhouse had a noble motive, to protect his community, but what about the rest of them?

From talking to people and reading CNN, it seems liberals want to give him forty-seven years or some long sentence. ( the forty-seven years was my figure of speech. Nobody but me has so spoken).
Conserveratives want to set him free. Lawyers from both sides get to pick the jurors. It's a jury trial on a matter of contention
thorough out this country. Sometimes it depends on where an individual is tried. That's always been the case. The jury gets to choose the punishment after the lawyers and the judge have their say. We all know this; the jury knows this. In time they will vote. It's the way trials have always worked. It will depend who sits on that jury.

And possibly where the trial is held. But it is what it is and we soon shall see.

I'm not a layer but since when , in summation, do you get to present evidence again?
