What is your impression of the Candidates running for the Presidency? Do any of them, some of them, or all of them fit the title of my topic? And if so...or not...why?
I'm not to thrilled with any of them. The ones I lost liked bombed out early. Jindal, Perry and Huckabee. If I had to pick between Cruz and Rubio, I'd go with Rubio. Trump's a loose cannon. I don't really trust Trump. I want to, but can't. The way they're carrying on in debates, I tend to think they'll all lie if it will benefit them.
I really know nothing about Perry, but I'll have to say that I had high hopes for Jindal and Huckabee as well. The way things are these days, though, I almost sensed ahead of time which candidates would be forced to leave. Makes me so ... I mean really! The qualities that would have gotten someone elected by a landslide "back in the day" are now the qualities that get mocked. Can you hear me growling all the way out there, @Ike Willis ? But since the topic is "lying", who dares first mention "the H woman?" Ooops, I guess I just did. Pathetic. Four mad smileys in one post... wonder if we have a limit?! Will the smiley police get me for overdose? I tremble!
I think they all fit your description. They tell us what we want to hear. How can you tell when a politician is lying?????? His lips are moving.
All politicians are liars according to Fact Checking sites….but they are only checking the candidates accuracy of facts which could be as a result of ignorance, not lies. I don't judge for non-intentional "lies" because I call those mistakes, wrong, or ignorant of the facts…and we all make mistakes like that. It's intentional deception that matters the most to me….deceiving the American people intentionally is the lowest. My ratings for those who deceive others intentionally from 1 - 10 (10 being the most likely to intentionally lie/deceive and has intentionally lied/deceived) Hillary 10 + Cruz 7 Trump 1 Bush 1 Rubio 0 Kasich 0 Bernie Sanders 0
I'm a democrat who has remained so from back in FDR's day. I declared myself a democrat sometime after the WPA was established and opened up work in my part of Texas. You might say I'm a middle of the Road guy, thinking government works better when both parties can work together. I approved of Truman, voted for Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson, and Nixon. I voted for Bush the Second. I see no reason to be anything but a democrat who votes for the individual and not the party. Being a democrat in a Red State means I don't vote except in the national elections. I opposed Hillary in 2008. I could not vote for Trump or Cruz. I suppose I like Kasich and will probably vote for him if he hangs in. But that's not likely. Bernie and Trump are of the same stripe. I cannot vote for a religious zealot and i tend to avoid the extremes on both right and left. So as it stands I really don't know who I want to win the nominations. I'll have to wait until somebody emerges. But I think politics is fun if one can control his/her emotions.
