Lie To Me

Post three things about yourself, only two of which are true, the object being for others to guess which one is the lie.

Once you have posted three things about yourself, you can let it go as long as you like before revealing the lie. If you want to do so after the first person has answered, you can do that, or you can let several people guess before doing so.

Note: Be careful not to post sensitive information.

I'll start.

1. I have been the program chairman of the second-largest program at one state college and a community college, at the same time.
2. I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree.
3. I was a certified welder.

 

Numbers one and two are both true. I was hired to be the chairman of the EMT program at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen despite the fact that I didn't even have an associate's degree, let alone a bachelor's. In fact, I was hired despite the fact that at least two other people who were applying for the position were passed over - and yes, they did know that. TSTC had a satellite campus in McAllen that broke off to become a community college, and I stayed on as the chairman of the South Texas Community College program as well. My students were earning associate degrees, which I did not have. I became a certified welder before I went into EMS, while I was working for Champion Paper Company.
