I just saw this alert for listeria in boars head meats. The map shows the areas where it has been found thus far, but if you use this brand of meat, you might want to not purchase any until they have all of the contaminated ones found and recalled.
Thanks Yvonne. There’s a store near me where I go for better produce and they also sell Boar’s Head products that I buy occasionally. I don’t have any now. It seems to me that there are many more of these food alerts than there used to be.
I was not aware "they" had nailed down the source. Initially they were saying it came from in store deli-sliced meats. I've been avoiding deli meats, and shall continue to do so. Some of the recalled Boars Head products prepackaged, while some are sliced at the deli , so there's gotta be cross-contamination. edit to add: This article contains a list of the recalled products.
