A very great country and western singer she was. It was written Patsy Cline was very close to her when she first broke into the business. I never saw her in person, but did often see her sister Crystal Gale at the Well's Fargo Houston mid 70s. I love those old early 60s appearances with her on the Wilburn Brothers show. I have always had her on my music list. RIP Loretta
First, RIP to one of the GREATS of country music! Actually, back in the mid 80's, when I was heavy into Square Dancing, there was a lady in the Club that was darn near a spittin' image of Loretta. Could've been Loretta's twin sister! She told me about a Regional Club Dance her and her husband attended in Lake Tahoe. Her and her husband had a room at one of the large casinos, and when they came in to register, many people thought it was Loretta Lynn. They ran up to her to get her autograph, until they found out that it wasn't Loretta. She told me that her and her husband were encountered a few more times during the Lake Tahoe stay and both laughed about it later. As for me, I couldn't believe the resemblance she had to Loretta!
She was one of the best. She broke new ground for women. Remember, "Mama's Got the Pill"? And "Fist City" For the longest time, I thought she was saying "Piss" city.
