This is a movie from 2007, featuring Drew Barrymore, Robert Duvall, Eric Bana, Debra Messing and others. I've seen it several times, and own it on DVD. I'm going through my DVDs to sell some of them, and have been watching some of my favorites in the process. It's sort of an offbeat love story, but also has father/son interactions, as well. It's set in Las Vegas, and shows the World Series of Poker in progress, which I found interesting. Here's a trailer, in case anyone would like to learn more.
If you do see it, let me know how you like it @Patsy Faye. It's a really cute one, and even though I don't play poker, I used to enjoy watching the tournaments online. It's one of the DVDs that I'm keeping, rather than selling, because I know I'll want to watch it again.
I will Diane, I've just added it to my favourites from Amazon What other movies have you liked - I think our taste is similar .............
Oh, I like lots of movies. I've made threads about some of the ones I've watched. I'll be going through my DVDs for a while now, and will try to remember to post the ones I enjoy. A few off the top of my head that you might like are: Mr Wonderful (Matt Dillon) and Next Stop Wonderland. I like a wide variety, including action, crime, and also some comedies and romances. I like The Holiday, and will probably watch that again soon, since I consider it a holiday movie. Holiday in Handcuffs and Christmas Angel are a few of the ones I watch yearly around Christmas. I re-watched The Proposal recently. I tend to like Sandra Bullock movies, and am hoping to see Our Brand is Crisis soon.
I watched two old favorites yesterday. Overboard, with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, and My Blue Heaven, which has Steve Martin, Rick Moranis and several other well known actors. My Blue Heaven has always been a favorite of mine, and I'm definitely keeping it. I love movies that always make me laugh and feel happy. I hadn't seen Overboard in quite a while, and I was surprised with just how much the young Goldie Hawn resembled her daughter Kate Hudson. I knew they looked alike, but the resemblance was uncanny.
