I’m 74, married, a retired biologist having worked in life science research labs and then later in sales and marketing of advanced imaging equipment and materials to those same labs. I’m not that physically active now (spinal damage and surgery with lingering effects on my legs) but used to bike, run, lift, practice martial arts, enjoy quick cars, photography and marksmanship. My favorite things now are a quiet home life, our cats, movies and TV series and concert videos, science fiction and science fact, coffee and chocolate.

Welcome from Virginia, Tom. I spent most of my life in Fairfax County and am now near Charlottesville. I, too, used to bike a lot. I still have my Motobecane Super Mirage I bought new all those years ago...
I lived in Charlottesville for 4 years when I worked at U. Va med school. I used to bike to work sometimes, ride around the campus area. Nice memories. BTW, John Brunner is one of my favorite S.F. writers. I’ve not read everything he wrote but I have read an awful lot of it.
Welcome form Alaska. Similar experiences here with spinal surgery and aging about a decade as a result. Never a big bike guy, but an active hiker and walker when I could do so.
Hi from Wisconsin. I have a small hobby farm. Your introduction sounds like you will fit right in here at SOC.
