This seems to be the standard set up for the quality Assisted Living operation. I checked this morning and discovered that we have more people in our Memory Care section than in our Assisted Living section and just a few in the Alzheimers section. Memory Care and Alzheimers have their own dining room and lounges.

So exactly what is the difference between Memory Care and Alzheimer's? It is just some nuance on diagnosis, with overlapping symptoms?

And I agree, most places are set up so that you can move from one to the other. My mother had alzheimer's and then dementia. She had in-home care, but I can see how staying at a facility that had become "home" would be of immense benefit as one progressed through stages.
