My husband has been noticing that I am experiencing memory lapse. He has been calling my attention whenever he would notice. For example, I asked him about something and he answered. Later on I would again ask about that something so he would tell me that I had already asked about it. But honestly, I didn't remember anymore. There are times that I am reading and when I go to the 3rd paragraph, I had to go back to the first paragraph for it seemed to have escaped my memory.

Our suspicion is the maintenance medication for my hypertension. I had it changed several times because of undesirable side effect. The first one was hair loss or falling hair. Then the doctor changed the medication and now I am on my 3rd that I suspect has the side of effect of giving me the memory lapse.

Have any of you experienced this? Or am I just getting old?

I have those "senior moments" they speak of, but then again, I have always been the spacey type, so it is hard to tell.:p I mean I do think they are more prevalent though now. Like the whole, I knew I came out here for something, and what was it? OR like getting something out of the cabinet, putting it down somewhere and then looking for it again...only to see I have already gotten it out..Yes, that happens a lot! Corie, keep track of that memory problem. Talk to your doctor to see if memory loss could be a side effect of the meds, if not, you should investigate other causes.

This happens to my wife more than myself and I simply call it "old age". Different things, physically and mentally, happen to us with age. Some folks don't want to really admit this about themselves, but "fact is fact".........it happens! There are things happening to both of us now, that never happened to us years ago.

I can't remember things sometimes and I don't have high blood pressure nor do I take any meds for it.

Hope they find something that works for you, Corie. If not maybe you can exercise more, lose weight if that's an issue and cut back on the sodium. I'm guessing the food in the Philippines has a lot if sodium...soy sauce, fish sauce, that kind of added sodium.

Good luck because uncontrolled high blood pressure leads to stroke, etc.
