How often did you fantasize about poking needles into your face ? Neither did I . However, Bobby got a weird little device that changed my thinking about this. It is called a derma roller, and when you roll it on your face, it pokes the skin with tiny needles. This is called micro needling. It has been done professionally for a while now, and still is. Having it done professionally would involve using larger needles, and is costly; but not necessary for most of the things we need it to do. The one we have is supposed to help smooth our wrinkles and skin blemishes, as well as heal scar tissue. Bobby has been using it around his face, and finally convinced me to try it. After scrubbing my face thoroughly, I took the roller and went over part of my face, being careful around my eyes, and then put on some healing night cream afterwards. My face didn’t hurt, but it did feel like a small sunburn. I have not noticed a lot of difference on my face, but I did just start using the derma roller. However, what really sold me on this device was the little scar left over from having the pacemaker put in. The incision healed up just fine, but it left about a quarter-sized dark area on my chest that just never seemed to go away, and it was in January when i had the pacemaker installed. There was also kind of a lump of scar tissue underneath the purple area. I decided to try the derma roller on the scar and see what it would do. I was utterly amazed to watch the purple discoloration disappearing as I was applying the derma roller . I have done this twice, and now the scar is much smaller and a pinkish color instead of an ugly purple. After browsing Amazon, I am ordering a derma roller set that has a small one for using around eyes and other places you would want a small one, and larger ones for the face and body. Kindle Unlimited had the “Derma Rolling Bible” , so I borrowed that, and am going to read up on all of the things that derma rollers can help with. Many people use it for restoring their hair, and thickening it, although I am not sure how you would roll it through your hair without it tangling up unless you have very short hair.
Very interesting and thorough explanation of this gadget, I will probably try this once Autumn comes along - thanks
