Often, The reason that they (lgbt gefiltafish...) are moving to remote places is to get away from those that hate them or wish them harm. My daughter has friends that are 'odd' that way. They moved in with daughter, at my farm, trying to get away from threats in Oregon (?). Not sure where to go now. But they are good, quiet, clean people. You could like them.

The intent of which is for each of us to get right with God and to stop looking outward at the broken world in order to avoid doing so.

ps: I am so very far from being perfect...

Yes, John, we know there are a couple of parlors in Cody, Wyoming, but, fortunately, not everyone in Cody has them. Cities, small, medium and large can't stop any tattoo parlor from opening, but like Homeless Shelters-Strip Clubs-Porn Theaters and Adult Book/Movie/Toy stores, not every wants them in their neighborhood and will protest against them getting a license to operate there. Don't know about the tattoo parlors, but the rest can bring down home prices and many residents say just that.

But, without a doubt, Cody wouldn't have the amount of tattooed people that Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago or even where we live would have. To us, that's definitely a good thing. We can put up with that.

And, there are other places in America that doesn't have thousands upon thousands of tattooed people in their city. That's why small/smaller populations are so very nice to live in.

I read about Cody and LGBTQ. Apparently the people there simply don't want a community like that there. It was tried once and failed. Cody is quite "Western" related and has an excellent Old West Museum there called the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. We've been in it and it is wonderful.

Anyway, Cody may not be the place for us either, but, thru research, and a possible visit next month, we'll find out. And then, just have to go from there.

Actually, Mary, we have a Great Neice that, somehow/someway, turned lesbian about 5 plus years ago. She was in our wedding in 2000. However, after thinking some, before she joined the Army at 18, she never had a boyfriend, that we ever knew or heard of. Don't know if that meant anything, because, during my high school years, I never had a girlfriend, but I never turned gay. All know is that, just after getting out of the Army, she went home and told her mom that she believed that she was bi-sexual. She had already been married, while in the Army, but the marriage ended up in Annulment. Don't know how she met the girl she is now married to, but we don't have anything to do with her or her mate. Of course, that's our choice, just like not wanting friends that smoke cigarettes. No matter how "good, quiet, clean" they are, we just don't want to associate with them and know some others that feel the same way. So, we aren't alone in our feelings.

We don't hate them or wish them harm at all. We simply don't associate with them. Just can't make someone like someone else. Can ask wife and I when it concerns rodeo. We had a County Sheriff's escort thru the gate into a rodeo one time.

As far as "how are we doing/what are we doing now"........continuing to pack. IOW, more pictures coming off of walls and packed up, more research going on online and so on and so on. Still renting a car and heading up to Wyoming towards the end of next month for a few days.

    That's it!

Since you and your wife are Christians, know the Bible and how to interpret it, and live by the scriptures, perhaps consider canceling moving and wait till you get to heaven. I think it might fit all your needs. I won't be there to pick on you, so it's a win-win for you and the misses.

This is what everyone keeps trying to tell you, TIME AFTER TIME. You don't have to associate with "them" no matter where you live. And believe me, you won't find anyplace that doesn't have "them" (tatooed, gay, no cowboy costumes, smokers, profane, etc.) Learn to be happy and content wherever you live, unless you're in a place where you are in danger. "Bloom where you are planted."

It seems that you just look for a reason to be unhappy. (And no need to give me another "Beth you are so mean, IOW, my wife thinks, yadda, yadda" reply. I already know what you're going to say.)

Yes, Faye, we are Christians, read the Bible and know how to interpret the verses. Simply read the verses that are of interest and go by what they say, NOT by what you want them to say. Many, many people do the later. There are verses pertaining to same-sex marriage and the GLBTQ+ population, but people interpret those verses to what they want, not what is written.

Of course, one way to not have anyone in this forum pick on us, is to quit the forum. Totally quit! I know I've stated that before, but after time and time and time again of feeling picked on, and even bashed, concerning rodeo, our move or anything else that I've done a thread on, it could definitely be time to move on. Either that, or pick better topic/threads to discuss and/or simply not reply to what I think is bashing/teasing comments.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. But, cancel moving...........now that ISN'T going to happen!!
