This is just food for thought about the issues of health buffs against junk food. The guy's name is Vincent, the son of my husband's cousin, who stands 6 feet 3 inches. He was born and raised in the US so my husband joked that maybe the air in America can make people grow tall. Vincent's father is only 5 feet 6 inches and his grandparents are both barely 5 feet while his roots on his maternal side are of average height, that is 5 feet 5 inches. Vincent father said that the boy grew up with junk food and they think junk food was what gave Vincent his height. It was nice to see Vincent standing tall over his cousin in the Philippines who is only 5 feet 5 inches tall. They are of the same age, of the same lineage, but the smaller cousin grew up eating natural food, the organic that we know, since that's their staple in the province.
Most of the animals that are raised for meat here in the United States are given some form of growth hormone, and even milk cows are given this hormone. Cows, pigs, chickens are all pushed to grow as large and as fast as they can . The meat that is used for fast food and snack food all have been raised this way. People get it when we eat meat that has been fed these growth hormones. Just because a person grows tall does not mean that they are also healthy. A friend who raised Beagles (hunting dogs) related this story to me. The size of Beagle that he was raising grew to be about 20-25 lbs. He had a man who had bought one of the puppies come back about a year later to show him how his puppy had matured. My friend, Dennis, said he did not even realize that the dog in the car was one of the pups from his bloodline of Beagles because the dog weighed about 40+ lbs. Turned out that the man had been feeding the dog puppy food the whole year , instead of for just the first three months. Puppy food has extra growth hormone in it, and that was what caused this dog to out grow all of his littermates, as well as his parents.
I don't mind eating a little junk food, but I tend to try to eat as well as I can. Unfortunately, organic food can be expensive. I don't think a steady diet of junk food is healthy by any means, but surely he also eats/ate at least some somewhat healthy food during his lifetime? I hate how unhealthy additives are put into so much of what we eat. Even those who think they're eating good food by sticking to mainly a plant based diet aren't necessarily safe from additives, since they've been around and used for so long that they've no doubt blown all over the place, and the run off has seeped into the ground and our water supply.
I doubt the fact he grew tall could be because of junk food. Maybe he had a lot of calcuum when he was hee in the US. I think that is responsible for the fact that many people grow strong, however, it is usually due toa combination of factors with genertics being the most important factor as far as that goes. Rather than tall with junk food most would grow fat, if they had too much of it.
