This combo gives me 9+ hrs of dreamy, pretty deep sleep nightly with bathroom wake ups. The sleep issue started after menopause when I was in late 50's and was also given the Fibro dx. Worked my remedy off a LifeExtension sleep product. Whether I have Fibro or not, don't know, believe it's so much issues gone astray in our bodies. I deal with more OA than anything. 1 to 1.5 hours before my head hits the pillow for sleep: 1/2 to 1mg Melatonin 500mg Inositol (from Vit B family) 500mg Gaba (used it for some time, but hardly now) 30 minutes before the pillow: 500mg or Less of L Tryptophan 50mg B6 (P5P) form The above gets me back to sleep after bathroom visits. Some people do OK without the two above but they made a huge difference for me and got me right back to sleep after bathroom. I've also used Calms Forte' homeopathic tablets for nights that are tougher and more fitful. If you have issues think about working with all or some of the above. I take magnesium thru the day and believe it helps a lot to relax the body for sleep time. Also for a lot of other things needed in our body. For the last 5 months I've also been using HGH Homeopathic gel that my daughter has brought to me for helping reverse some of the damage done with aging and finding this HGH makes me sleep even deeper...but I won't go there now.
That is good, and hope you stay asleep right! I got rid of TV a couple yrs ago but that was never my go to sleep remedy anyway.
I have suffered from insomnia for more years than I care to know. I had acute sleep apnea for many years before I had laser throat surgery. No doubt SA contributed to my insomnia.. that and stress. Some days insomnia kept me awake til sunup. So something had to be done. I have since been taking temazepam and or alepam subscription medicine to ensure sleep. As my insomnia has decreased with age.. thank god.. I now find three melatonin tabs 1 hour before sleep does the trick.
Both my parents snored but never was the sleep apnea term ever heard in our home. It's now a huge business and some clinics have been shut down here in the U.S. for frauding Medicare and other insurance companies. https://www.npr.org/sections/health...-business-is-booming-and-insurers-arent-happy Glad the melatonin helps you and my dose is very but I take some other stuff as mentioned in my opening post.
@Joy Martin you are the first person I have heard about who takes any B vitamin before bed. Usually they serve as a metabolism enhancement, and tend to fill people with energy. I haven't tried it myself, though, so I can't testify personally. I take my B vitamins in the morning.
Inositol is from the B family and it's one for calming, it's part of my sleep combo. B6 (P5P) works with the Tryptophan and these two get me back to sleep pretty Quickly during the middle of night bathroom calls. These are the only two B's that I use in my sleep remedy.
I read that having some kefir at night was helpful for sleeping, and here is a quick little video from Dr. Berg that explains exactly what kefir does for our body and how it helps us sleep better. Interestingly, many of the same things that @Joy Martin takes in her nighttime regimen are the same things I get in my nightly cup of kefir. The helpful bacteria and yeast from the kefir make tryptophan and also melatonin in our gut, as well as serotonin, the “feel good” hormone. Kefir also makes several of the B+ vitamins naturally in our bodies, and it has other helpful vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, which helps a person to sleep better. Making kefir is as simple as setting out some milk and kefir culture in a jar on the kitchen counter, and in 12-24 hours (depending on temperature in the house), it will have cultured into kefir.
