I had seen some episodes of The Glades when it was running on TV, but I only caught an episode here and there, so I wanted to watch it from the beginning. Since I am down to the local channels and Netflix right now, I decided the time was right. I started watching it last week, and I'm up to the 3rd season now. I think there are only 4 seasons in the series, and I know my mom wasn't happy when it ended. We tend to like some of the same shows, but then there are differences as well, such as Sister Wives, which I couldn't even watch one episode of. I like the show, and it's helping me pass the time without thinking too deeply about anything, which is sometimes a real blessing. After this, I might watch Breaking Bad, if they have it from Season 1, and I also want to see if there are newer seasons of Heartland, which I really enjoyed when I watched it.
Here's a link to the show's wikipedia page. It's about a police detective who worked in Chicago, but his boss shot him in the butt because he thought Jim was having an affair with his wife. Apparently he sued, and got enough of a settlement to relocate somewhere in Florida, near the Everglades. I like that I can watch and don't have to think much. The show centers around his work, but also covers his friendships with co-workers and romantic interestes.
There are only 4 seasons, although there was talk initially of a Season 5. I guess it was cancelled at the last minute, so the season ender of season 4 turned out to be a cliffhanging series finale. I'm going to probably start watching season 4 later today, but it's bittersweet, because I know I'll be left hanging.
Breaking Bad is super @Diane Lane. That was one show that I truly binge watched. I saw it on Netflix, I think it was last summer when I started and I ran through all the episodes,in a pretty short period of time, because I would watch two and three episodes at t time. I thought the show was fantastic. I don't know why I didn't get into it when it was on TV. I guess Mad Men had more hype, so I watched that. Breaking Bad is a truly gripping series though.
I'm watching the Glades on Netflix too Diane, love that guys acting, and the story-lines are so good. I researched to see why it ended after the 4 seasons, because it was such a good show. Seems anything without the sex, and other garbage doesn't last long these days Another I started from Season 1 (although scifi) sort of put me in mind of what could happen if all kinds of people have to fight "literally" to survive, good show, and that cute guy that eventually went on to be the start of Castle is in it. Did you know you can request movies and TV with on Netflix site? I do and every so often they notify me with the ones I requested Here's the link: This is if your are logged in as a member https://help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest PS I love many of the older BBCs too: Midsomer Murders, Poirot, and really liked George Gently, smartass partner I didn't care for but neat how Gently handled him Tons more yet to explore
Thanks, Denise. I got a little overwhelmed with all that was on Netflix back when I had both that and cable, because I felt under pressure to watch everything on my DVR. Now that I no longer have cable for the most part, other than local channels, I can feel free to explore Netflix after I get through some things I'm working on. I haven't turned the TV on today yet, so still have all of season 4 of The Glades. I want to try to watch all of Breaking Bad if they still have that, and I might even rewatch Dexter if it's still available, too. I really enjoyed that.
