I know a lot of it is genetic, but I suspect you can train most any dog to be like that if you start torturing it when it is a small puppy.

This breed is new to me but several owners online have said that these dogs are very intolerant of the type of playing and teasing by very young children, like pulling the ears and tail, and even less aggressive types of contact that most family dogs look forward to as play and exercise.

One guy said that his beast weighs 220 lbs. Must have been an NFL linebacker in a previous life.:p

I once owned a Greenland Husky. He was wonderful around people but would not tolerate other dogs, and they are bred and selected for that. We rescued him, but had to return him, as we had other dogs.

My dad brought a Koto hound (fighting dog) back from Japan after the war. He had rescued it as a small pup from a sinking Japanese ship and it became his ship's mascot.

He was a good dog around kids; in fact he was a good babysitter of me. He would not let me leave the yard and would not let anyone he didn't know to enter the yard when I was there.

BUT he was an absolute terror to other dogs. He wasn't that big, but every dog in the neighborhood was scared of him. I've seen him take on 3 dogs at once and beat the heck out of them all. He lived to be 15 and never slowed down.

I can believe 220 but 270 as one person claimed is undoubtedly a fabrication. Otherwise, I'd teach the dog about football, become his agent, and get rich.
