Worrisome things I thought I would enquire about. In the past year or two, during my work under the hood and such, squeezing and sliding my hands and arms amongst tight, sometimes sharp edges, I get bruises of various severity under the skin. They gradually go away after several weeks, depending on severity. This never happened before. Funny, this happens only on upper extremities, if I crease a leg underneath the car against some sharp edge, it does not bruise. Am I seeing some effect having medical significance? Happen to any of you? Searching suggested bruising is easier in old age in general. I plan to ask the Dr., if I finally drag myself over to his office. Been a year since my last blood work-up. Thanks for any ideas. Frank
I used to have those mysterious bruises when I was in my 30s. I had consulted several physicians and later an OB-Gyne for reproductive health because the physicians said that those bruises were related to my menstruation. And when the OB-Gyne specialist confirmed the diagnosis, I have learned to come to terms with those bruises. In fact, I still have it sometimes but normally in my arms and thigh, not in the legs though. @Frank Sanoica, I'm sure your case is different than mine, hahahaaah.
@Corie Henson Don't blame you for laughing, Corie! I have never experienced any menstrual difficulties!
All sorts of reasons for bruising but one is that you're getting older. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/healthy-aging/in-depth/easy-bruising/art-20045762
