This is one of the places I go when I don't want any politics or pandemic stuff. I have always had a bit of affection for the 18th century and this channels specializes in that time period. It has been going for ten or fifteen years, and started as an ad channel for their business, moved into cooking, and now has widespread things from homesteading and blacksmithing to art. This is a 15 min. video on "cakes" made for farmhands during harvest time in England. Notice he is cooking on a German hearth. Apparently it was brought to America by German settlers. German housewives and cooks didn't want to spend their time kneeling on the floor, so the craftsmen of the time built the hearth at waist level to make things easier for them.
