Once again I have managed to foul things up. While watching a Youtube video, and using closed captioning, I somehow greatly INCREASED the size of the closed captioning. Nothing I do seems to get it back to normal size. Jeez, the CC now covers nearly 1/2 of the screen. This only happens on youtube and nowhere else. Does anyone know how to six fix it ?
You can turn off the closed captioning by pausing the video and hitting the little rectangle button on the bottom. Also, if you go to the YouTube settings icon (the gear) and touch “options”, there should be a section to help you determine the size of the font. Note: sometimes there is only one option for font size depending on the video.
Neither option works. I paused the youtube video by tapping the screen. the little triangle on the bottom only controls auto play. I also went to the youtube videos and clicked open the "gear". No option for font size. Thank you anyway. PS: the enlarged CC only happens on yotube.
The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall YouTube then re-install it. When you re-install it, it should come back to its default settings.
Thanks for reminding me of another great song, ' There I've Said It Again'. I'm waiting for CC to ask me if I'm sure I want to post that reply., its seems to be getting a little controlling lately.
In our system, subtitle fonts are controlled by our Apple TV. If your YouTube app resides on a device, you might go to the settings menu of that device and see what options you have for the fonts. If it’s YouTube premium, the subscription service, I have no experience with that at all.
Then watch the video posted above by @John Brunner and see if that will work for you. I don't find any keyboard shortcut to do that.
THANK YOU , JOHN, The video you posted gave me the EXACT info I needed to control font size. It worked like a dream.
YAY!!!! That was the only vid I found that was short and to the point. The rest seemed to like the sounds of their own voices.
Yes, indeed. Many, perhaps most, instructional videos are entirely too complicated ... at least to me. I feel that many instructors simply do not explain things in a straight forward way. When I wish to learn something new, I often have to search and search many videos before I find one that makes sense.
