That's a good idea! None of the nurses who know me would be surprised in the least. I should take the blood pressure machine in there as well.
(If you're not diabetic or prediabic,) to avoid unnecessary worry, get some information about the variation in readings & the fact that "normal" numbers have changed recently - adjusted for age. Friends of mine in their 80's have been told by their doctors that they're diabetic & need medication. Later, a second opinion doctor who was more informed, said they were not & the medication would cause more harm & risk than necessary.
My A1C at my GP always hovers at the 15 mark, but I got a Fasting Glucose test from a nephrologist and it's fine.
A1c at 15??? That is incredible @John Brunner! Regardless what your fasting is, check your glucose at different times throughout the day to see what is going on. Your A1c shouldn't be above 6.0 or thereabouts.
