Anyone have one of these? I'm still trying to figure out which one I have brought on by diabetes, I guess? I just took my trail walk and one of my legs went out, where did that come from? Thank goodness after some 'maneuvering' I didn't fall. Walking for life could've been cruising for a bruising.
Marie, many times diabetics will have peripheral neuropathy, which is basically nerve-related and causes a loss of sensation in the extremities, or burning, tingling nerve pain. PAD/PVD are diseases of the venous system (blood vessels), not necessarily associated with diabetes. That said, it is possible to have any/all of these whether a person is diabetic or not. Sounds like you need a medical assessment of your situation.
Thank you, Beth, but I just cancelled appt yesterday when I found out the vessal doctor was in the office with the one who put stents in who lied to me. So I'm trying to see what I can find out online and YouTube.Your the first one to tell me this in a post a few weeks ago thank you lots. I did go to a PC in Feb and all blood work was good.
Marie, I'd recommend seeing a neurologist if you believe the issue is related to your diabetes. My husband has PAD and had a stent put in his groin to help circulation in one leg. (Not diabetic.)
I don't seem to have either one of the PAD or PVD, none of those symptoms. I do have numbness ans kind of achy feelings in my legs and numbness in both legs below the knees and feet. Kinda like it feels when Novocain is wearing off. I don't want them to tell me I need stents in my legs at the stent factory. It was like an assembly line at that place. I'm too sick mentally at times to argue with them.
I don't mind a stent but those can also be a can of worms on their own for some and a life changing miracle for others. All I needed was aspirin therapy since the blockage was only 75%. And to get off my butt.
That sounds more like peripheral neuropathy. The good news is, it can't be treated with stents because it's not venous. The bad news is, there are not many effective treatments though some people have good success with gabapentin, Neurontin, etc. You should see a neurologist and make sure that's what the issue is.
Beth the eye doctor told me the same thing, he said my eye scans may be a neuro thing. I told the clinic what he said and the doctor said" you no have no stoke, you face no hanging down. She was Asian didn't speak English well. So, they refused me seeing neurologist. That was Sept.2019 Now appt are months off. I just take my 1/4 aspirin for stents and BP med if needed. Only saw that one heart doc who was sick since the stroke and stents.
