Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) is demanding that the FBI investigate the exploitation of thousands of unaccompanied alien children (IUAC) who may have been brought into the United States via child smuggling operations.

According to data from US Customs and Border Protection, approximately 345,000 minors have crossed into the United States unaccompanied since President Joe Biden took office, while a report from the NY Times suggests that the Department of Health and Human Services has lost contact with 85,000 of these minors.

“The Biden Administration is morally responsible for their fate. The President lifted Title 42 restrictions on unaccompanied children in early 2021,” wrote Hawley in a Friday letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray. “Reporting reveals that HHS loosened vetting processes for sponsors and retaliated against whistleblowers who raised these concerns. As a result, thousands of children have been handed over to modern-day slave traders.

More than 300 children, including two 10-year-olds, were found working at McDonald's restaurants across Kentucky and several other states in violation of federal labor laws, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

In one case, investigators found two 10-year-olds were working unpaid and until as late as 2 a.m. at one McDonald's restaurant in Louisville operated by Bauer Food LLC, which is based in Louisville, the department said in a news release.

The two children prepared and distributed food orders, cleaned the store, worked at the drive-thru window and operated a register, investigators found. One of them was also allowed to operate a deep fryer, a task prohibited for workers under the age of 16under federal law.

Most of the restaurants, 45 of the 62, were in Kentucky, according to data released by the department.

I don't know what the situation was here, but if they were working at their parent's franchise, I wouldn't personally have a problem with it, although I can understand that it might violate some laws, and probably franchise regulations. On the other hand, if they were slave children brought across the border by the Biden Administration, that's another thing.

Two were the children of a night manager. There were hundreds of others that probably weren't relatives of any employee.

Agree, there was a small Chinese place near us, a family business. Whenever we went in, there were a couple young children always around, home schooled maybe? Once in a while I would see them helping mom at the counter. Helping out the parents like that seems OK to me.
