Have you considered recycling or reusing containers and grocery bags? It is getting to be popular here. But been practicing that recycling since a long time ago. Coming home from the supermarket, we take time in folding the plastic grocery bags and kept in the stock room for future use. With boxes and cartons, we also fold it before storing. This thread came to my mind because yesterday we were cleaning the stock room and I noticed the folded plastic grocery bags, they're a lot. And there are also the used bottles and jars that were cleaned and neatly lined up in a rack. Trash may be one of the biggest problems of the world now but we are not aware because our system of garbage disposal is still working. But what happens when the world is filled with trash?
My teen is a stickler for recycling. We keep a bag in the kitchen for plastics, paper, and cans. He is responsible for taking it to the recycling bin daily. Then the city comes once a week to empty the bin. I do feel good about being a recycling family.
Yes, I think just about everyone recycles these days. I have been doing it for years personally. I could probably recycle more than I do, but I always make the attempt to do it. It is a good and enviormentally friendly thing to do. I recycle about 90 percent of my cardboard. I just think that it is the resposible thing to do, and just about everyone I know does it.
I've been using reusable shopping bags for over ten years. I make them myself. I don't have time to right now and could use more. When the town I live in stopped using plastic bags in grocery stores, some were in a minor panic but everyone has adjusted. One co-worker stated she was having fun noticing what bags people were using. You can still buy a paper bag for 10 cents each. I keep boxes and packing materials. If I buy something that is breakable I have contacted the seller or company to be sure they don't use those horrible plastic peanuts.
