So much for the little 5 foot dictators thoughts. This guy needs to be taken down and from the looks of things it won't be long. At this point I predict a coup de tat from the Russian Generals. The world is bad enough without having a butcher and madman holding the key to a lot of NUKEs. He is unstable and at the very least people in leadership all throughout the free world now know he is a real and clear danger to the life of our world.

If you are a leader you don't start throwing around threats of using Nuclear Weapons. It reminds me of an injured animal and encircled by all it's enemies.

I'd go after Kim Jong-un before I'd go after Putin.

Kim is unstable. Putin is calculating and ruthless. Besides, the problem in these systems is not getting rid of the guy at the top, it's always the question of "Now what?" and of how things would shift when an outside nation takes out their leader...nationalist sentiment is bound to rise.

Maybe we could tell Hillary that Vladimir called her "cankles." He'd be suicided by the end of the week.

I hope my grandchildren don't have to hide under the desks like we did during air raid drills during the Cold War. (Would that have shielded us from nukes?!?! I don't think so!)

Even as a kid, I knew that the sole benefit was to make it easy to tell whose ashes were whose.

    Duck and Cover, baby.

The Nukes today are a hundred times or more powerful that those 1st generation Nukes that the 50's programs were teaching safety. It is true if you are behind something you have a greater chance of surviving the initial heat blast, but it's what comes afterwards that kills you years to decades later. My launch site had one safety room above ground that the general personnel would hunker down in should there be an attack. It was lead lined and so heavy all of those rooms for all the NIKE bases were pre assembled and set by a crane on each new base. I doubt there would have been any strikes on our little sites since they would be totally useless if the silos had already been expended. Ours was the last line of defense for N.S.E.W airborne forces attacking the high priority bases like our airfields and fuel and other important things. It was really not something that was going to win a Nuclear War. It would come so fast and devastating to the entire world we would scarcely last more than 30 minutes after it starts. It has always been too many mad men in our world. There won't be any mad men left once one orders a launch. I still have hope there are some sane people in the Russian forces that would not carry out such a silly order, the first thing that he would think about is his own kids and family.

I think Duck & Cover was meant to shield us from flying glass from the windows...not that it matters. And you gotta wonder if you really want to survive such a thing...what would the point be? Regarding the fingers on the buttons...I bet those people are selected using their psychological profiles and familial connections...most likely young single men.

But this is the kinda thing that almost gets trivialized when applying rational thought to it, huh? And there are too many mad men.

There's some great early 50s training films made at area 51 during Nuke test. It was comparing living areas that were un kept and one exactly the same but clean. Actual footage of both areas side by side showing that it was possible to see great difference in the scenarios. Of course today that wouldn't mean much if you look at the homeless camps of SF Ca, and Tom's house. Here is a good movie

FEMA has just released new guidelines on what to do in the event of nuclear attack.

    Here is an excerpt:

Go to the basement or middle of the building
Stay away from the outer walls and roof. Try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them.

After watching the Vacuum Bomb the Russians dropped in Ukraine, all you need is a dust pan and some kind sole who survived to sweep up your remains for a nice burial. If they don't get this guy for war crimes there is no justice at all. On a good note 40 million against less than a quarter of a million is pretty doggone good odds that Russia is going to lose this invasion, and every ruble they have. I have no doubt Russia will be forced to repay for rebuilding Ukraine or they will never be allowed to use all the commercial services world wide again. A real leader such as Trump will make them pay until all the damage incurred is fixed. It would never happen with the zombie slobbering on his ice cream cone.

And all the cnn anchors are standing in line to comply. They have more poofs employed as anchors than a Face Powder manufacturer.

This is a video that is all over Twitter. I can’t post it from there and can’t find it on youtube, so until I can find the whole video, I just took a screenshot of one of the tweets referring to it.
    Found it.
The video is about a half hour long, and this comment comes about 18 minutes into the video. Here is more info about the interview with Biden :
“Joe Biden recently sat down for an interview with Heather Cox Richardson, a historian and professor of American history at Boston College.”

Yes, that is it, @Beth Gallagher . I just kind of skipped though it until I found the part I was looking for, so I have not watched the whole thing either. Another interesting thing, talking about Putin invading some country, he said this has not happened since WW2, which we know is not correct either.
