I don't think that is a real threat. I don't think it would accomplish what they want. The military experts I have listened to maintain that the military would be the targets and the cities would be held hostage. Wyoming and Montana might be targets, but it would be for the missile silos, not the volcano.
Dangerous that such extreme measures are casually and openly discussed on TV, “normalizing” desperate and catastrophic acts. Our current crop of world “leaders” should be abondoned on an island and left with nothing but bare survival needs. They are going to stupidly waltz us right into oblivion.
I do not think that this would ever happen. For one thing, if they blow the Yellowstone volcano, most of America would be covered in so much ash that the whole country would be pretty much unusable for many years, making it worthless. It would make much more sense to disable America with something like an EMP, which does not hurt the land at all. I think that the superpowers have more sense than to just blow up another country now, since there are so many other ways to disable the military and the people without putting nuclear waste into the air all over the world. Also, if Yellowstone volcano erupts, the ash fallout will cover other countries, and would make the whole world a little colder; so that is another reason not to do it. I think that this article is just to scare people, and not likely to happen.
It probably is an attempt to frighten the American people, but I don't see what they would gain by it. Taking out our crop land would not be the first option as it would take a while to get through the system. Taking out New York, L.A., Houston and Chicago would get our attention.
I agree that EMP is the weapon of choice, simple and too hard to stop; basically could knock the whole country back to frontier days. I think it a dangerous sign though that these measures are being publicly discussed in such a casual manner. People become desensitized when they hear things, even extreme things, often enough.
The MSM is covered with stories about Russia losing the war, but when I read the real news and reports from the front. Ukraine seems to be losing on all fronts. Zelenskyy has used some of our money to purchase a luxurious estate in the Miami area, so I expect him to move there when all crashes. Ukraine seems to be attempting to evacuate Bakhmut if they can get past the encircling Russians. Russia did lose an expensive plane in Belarus apparently, but the details have been hard to pin down. The Biden crew is now trying to direct attention to China with stories about the balloons and the Lab Leak that was denounced by the Administration on every front until the story became useful to Biden et al. They always neglect to mention that much of the development of the virus was financed by the U.S. (Fauci, etc.) using American and Canadian technology. Now that we have taught them how to build a pathogenic virus, they don't need us any more and they can build a much more virulent pathogen. EMP would be the Russian weapon of choice, however.
I don't think it's about anything that we're supposed to believe it's about, and I'm not certain that Putin, Zelensky, and whoever is actually in charge of the United States aren't all in it together to further an agenda that lowers the living standards in the United States and further enriches those who are already rich.
It seems to me that Putin is, in a way, defending our freedom by fighting the "Deep State" or whoever is in charge of all this. Trump seemed to have discovered some of the undercurrents, and that is why he was attacked so strongly. I feel strange that Putin seems to to fighting the forces that want to take our freedom away and make us serfs to the Oligarchy.
