I'm trying to think about what to put here. I know that horses are herd animals and do not like to be alone. The folks around here (and likely elsewhere) get donkeys as companion animals. I guess they're cheaper and easier to care for than another horse. I had no idea they were this viscous.

I had 2 in my lifetime, one as a child the other we got in our 40s.
We have our farm registered with a donk asst. We were going to sell guard donks many ranches around here have guard donks to protect their livestock. .Our Rosie was registered as was our farm known as Sassy Ass Acres. I thought that title fit her and most donks.

That was likely from a Saturday morning show called "Lance Link: Secret Chimp."

Their band was "The Evolution Revolution."

No hubby was injured and we almost lost everything plus he couldn't care for the equine anymore, we cried everytime we looked at their stalls. We gave them away with understanding we could visit them to make sure they were being propperliy cared for. We had a few come to see themwe would not even consider letting thrm have either. We found great home for both one to a vet other to a ranch with cows,Rosie was so happy after awhile she loved thecows Her new owner said she would pull them around by the ears and lay with them at night. He said Rosie would come up to fence hey hawing demanding her carrot every morning.
Horse was offered $3500 first day on trail ride which was good for an old gelding.

I watched a special on falcon training. One guy had the falcon on his arm, while the other went over a mile away down the valley and tossed a tennis ball with a feather attached up & down. It took a minute but you could see the bird catch it out of the corner of his eye and then stare. You and I could not see it. The falcon took off. The camera switched to the guy with the ball. It took a while, then out of nowhere this thing came blasting in and attacked the ball.

    Just chilling...

There is a 250 acre place that I share a property line with. It just went on the market again for at least the 3rd time since I've been here (11 years.) The current owner is either the inventor or the CEO (or maybe both) of Inogen oxygen concentrators. He bought the place as a wedding venue. It has a nice large house on top of the hill with small paddocks strewn about. He bought it not long before COVID hit (the poor bugger.) Before then it was owned by a couple who did mustang rescue. I think they had it for 4-5 years or so and then crashed & burned. I'm sure you know that keeping horses is not cheap...and that expense was on top of a $1,000,000 mortgage.

WIld life is smarter than we give them credit for. We have owls and hawks here, plus a family of crows .We try to just give to the mother who we have had visiting for 8 years before she had family. But her babies are trying to get the food. She loves soda cracker. Dhe only gets one cracker a day. She will parade around showing it off to our hens. They will chase her.
