I've been putting unrefined coconut oil in a hot drink in the evenings and occasionally in the afternoon, but I've only been putting in about the tip of a teaspoon's worth to add flavor. It sounds like I should be upping that amount to get any benefit. I've not used it for anything else.
Can this coffee concoction be bought at ... say Starbucks ? I would really like to try it but .. I do not have all the ingredients . And to be honest, I'd rather not just dive in ... so-to-speak ...
I used to cook with Coconut oil. The problem I experienced was ... it stopped up my plumbing. Not mine , but the plumbing of the house. [Kitchen drain] to be specific. It seems Coconut oil returns to a solid/semi-solid state when the environment it is in returns to approx, 70/F When I washed out the pan(s) / did the dishes in winter months , it created a build-up/back-up.
Just reading the rankings of Dementia/Alzheimers cases in the world and 3 countries that come in low are Italy and Greece (olives) and Philippines (coconuts). U.S. is in the quite high area as the push in the U.S. is no fat, low fat, and use the cheap junk bad oils. Richest country and sickest. https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/alzheimers-dementia/by-country/
When I was in the care of UCLA docs, their hospital and 3 rehab homes for my knee infection, I kept a jar of coconut oil at my bedside and rubbed it in my knee and also would eat a small spoon of CO daily, and I met a lot of CNA's who were from the Philippines and they knew about the CO I had close by and would tell me about their lives growing up in their country and on CO from very early on. 4.5 months to get out of there due to negligence on the UCLA doc's parts..
My brother checks in now and then and the other day he did with news and about his gf of many years apparently in early stages of dementia. I gave him a quick lesson getting the gf to take 1-3 tsps of coconut oil from a spoon. He sped to whole foods to buy their first jar. At least he's willing to listen and hopfully it will be worth it. He's the one who can't get a doc appt for her...... Dr. Mary Newport bought her husband more time as she gave him CO daily.
