Although “Bohemian” is the designation of one who lives in Bohemia, the present day definition of Bohemian is one who lives differently from the socially accepted norm:
Unconventional as a “beatnik or a hippy”.

So, if one takes the present definition and applies it to the music or the movie then one can come to a better understanding of what it is about.

Hal, the movie is about a rock singer and the band he sang for. If you aren't a fan of the group Queen, you could have a hard time understanding it.

Thanks, Cody...I never even heard of the rock group "Queen"!

After admiring the compositions of the Beach Boys and the Beatles, all other rock bands are noise and junk.

@Bobby, I know about those who live a "bohemian" lifestyle, such as some artists, but I didn't know if this was in the same league.

Best way I can advise you on that is to listen to the words and the style of the music and go from there.

I am not much ahead of you on this, @Hal Pollner . I also enjoyed The Beach Boys, and songs of that era, but never really cared for the Beatles, or the other copycat groups.
As far as Queen, I have heard the name, but would not know their singing if I heard it, or what the group looks like. Nor have I watched the movie.
However, I did find this version of Bohemian Rhapsody played on an old calliope/fair organ, and just listening to the sound of the organ is magnificent; so I think that you will enjoy this also.

Here is Bohemian Rhapsody for the Cat People on the forum. I think @Ken Anderson will relate to the words of this song.

    Hi, Hal!

You may have heard this Queen song --- 'We Will Rock You' --- since it's being used at sports events in the US and worldwide. This fun version looks like it might be from a soccer game in Russia, maybe? Impressive kid singer!

EDIT --- FYI, those red hats in the audience aren't MAGA. They're in support of one of the teams playing. :-D

Actually @Janice Lynne both the soccer match and Polly Ivanova are from Bulgaria.

Thanks, Bibi! I made a snap judgement on that, due to little Polly's last name.

@Janice Lynne You'll find that writing and many names are similar in Eastern European countries that use the cyrillic alphabet. It can be difficult to distinguish between them.

@Hal Pollner Square Hal, you've probably heard the song Barcelona at some time or another. It was recorded in 1987 by Freddie Mercury who was the lead singer of the rock group Queen and opera singer Monserrat Caballé. It was used as the anthem at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona the year after Freddie Mercury died.
