Rejoice with me! I just scored hay! I usually don't buy anything on a Sunday but I found hay that was reasonable, sounded like what I wanted and at a good price on craigslist. They even will deliver. I told them just let me know when it will be coming. Nice lady. She has plenty of fields, just no more animals. This is a big thing for me after the crumby hay weather we had this year. I explained to her if she had put her phone number in the ad it would be gone already. craigslist email does not work the same as it used to. Happy dance!
I will rejoice with you @Mary Stetler! We also scored hay today from a farmer at church. My wife asked him about straw. He said he didn't have much straw, but if we just wanted it for bedding, he would give us last year's hay at no charge. Since we no longer have livestock other than chickens, hay will probably be fine, especially if it is mostly used outside under the sheltered yard. If it isn't moldy, we can use it inside, but, since it isn't as insulating or resistant to moisture, it may mostly be in the nest boxes.
Getting caught up in stuff I didn't get to through the week because I'm so tired all the time right now. Then Deadliest Catch,Yellowstone,The National and then everything shuts off purposely.
