Sure took a long time didn't it. I would have thought any 4th grade student would have some idea of what our constitution allows or does not allow. I must have been thinking on a higher cloud. There is no such thing as allowing any person with a different skin color to be preferable for college acceptance. There was outright criminal activity taking place by these universities to grab all that tax payer money, and to hell with with equal rights.

The next ruling coming is this "You Pay For A Rich Kid To Go To College", also thereby making legal contracts void. I have a feeling that halfwit hasn't heard the fat lady sing yet. But she is warming up. To give a better insight to just how corrupt this slug is, after the ruling on affirmative action he says he will instruct universities to go around the ruling any way they can. Now if that isn't criminal I don't know what is and just add it to his soon to be impeachment. He will go down in History as the worst idiot ever to be placed into the white house, because he was placed not elected, he is a living corpse in every sense of the word. Now maybe some smart Kids who deserve to go to college can go without being cheated by these slugs who buy votes. It reminds me of a past Mayor of New Orleans some years ago, there was college grant available for all Mayors to hand to someone deserving, the idiot gave it to his own son. It just don't get any worse than something like that in local government. He was forced to repay the grant..... ending on a good note. :D

That says it all. Previous Supreme Courts have refused to hear the issue because they knew they'd have to strike it down.

Student Loan forgiveness struck down 6-3. (Three morons)

The US Supreme Court shot down the Biden administration’s controversial plan to forgive billions of dollars in federally-backed student loan debt, a decision that means millions will have to start making repayments later this year.

In a 6-3 decision down ideological lines, the justices held that the administration wasn't authorized to offer the debt relief under a 2003 law known as the HEROES Act. The Biden administration invoked that act during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic as authorization for the student loan relief.

I believe the lawsuit at Harvard was brought on behalf of Asian American students who claimed they were discriminated against by affirmative action. I do think if they eliminated race as a consideration, and based admissions purely on academic performance, a much higher percentage of Asian Americans would be admitted. They score, on average, much higher on SAT tests.

Besides GPA and SAT, they also consider things like extracurricular activities, volunteer work, how many advanced placement courses you have taken, and how much your relatives have donated to the college. You also have to write an essay.

SAT score prep courses are a big business for those students whose parents can afford to pay. They probably have places that will write your essay for you also. The point is, it takes money to get admitted to college now.

I think they can come up with more fair criteria, but it might be a full time job just handling tens of thousands of applications every term. They may have to outsource the job to low paid workers at $15/hr.

A spokesperson for Harvard says they are going to ignore the Supreme Court ruling.

Would that not be answered with a stiff penalty. I wonder what they would do if a conservative college said same. Of course the Supreme Court has no enforcement arm and it would fall on the same criminals in our Justice Department who are now busy targeting all conservatives. I honestly believe one day all hell is going to break loose because of these people thinking there are in fact two sets of laws, they should be punished to the highest degree of punishment for thumbing Justice in the eye, I would shut them down permanently. Now of course a democratic majority in the court would vote in favor of every illegal or non constitutional law we have. You saw what those two women said in their opinions, I wonder to myself how can people like those two even be considered but then a lot of Republican hinee kissers also helped by voting to place them.

The one older member woman was only a law clerk but for some reason our laws to appoint non judicial people to sit on our supreme court is legal and that is a very terrible mistake because she was placed as a political hack purposely. Our country will suffer until all these present people are long gone and people will finally get tired of the fighting and targeting if it does not start a civil war first. It would be different if they actually had these people's best interest at heart, this is about using our tax dollars to buy votes for democrats simply because it makes them look good. If a person is so dumb they can't see through that then pity them.

The balance is so one sided now thanks to so many millions of socialist to come in and take our tax dollars and send it to their real home from where they all came. This all started with johnson when he signed that welfare bill, he is on tape bragging and saying " This will have those Negroes voting democrat for a hundred years " then the old bastard laughed aloud. I really despise that guy and for a lot of reasons, and probably a lot that have not been disclosed. Someone like him as stupid as he was sure could have been involved in the assassination of Kennedy.

The Cherokee Trail of Tears occurred despite a Supreme Court ruling that would have prohibited it. President Andrew Jackson is quoted as saying, “John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it.”

Good. Then they can face hundreds of lawsuits each year.

Yup. There are lots of people who want this practice ended, and this SCOTUS ruling may shine enough light on this form of preference to get some traction.

I have no problem with those of Asian descent achieving whatever they can on a level playing field. Let's have these folks make everyone else "up their game." To me, the greatest benefit of immigration is bringing in folks to increase competition and to refresh our gratitude for what we've got...it shakes up complacency.

I never saw the ruling on the pay someones debt until this morning when I woke up at 4:30am. It would be hard to argue something so wrong to any court much less the supreme court. All of these illegal actions by liberals are by design aimed at buying votes taking credit for another freebie that the bad ole Republican was against. It is past the dumb idea and now listed as a waste of our federal tax dollars to have the supreme court have to baby sit this moron in our white house. If you think he is bad wait until that wench moves in to take over the last year. There will be so many attempts to make decrees the court will have to hire extra workers. Nothing done this past 2 years has made America better but just the opposite we are bankrupt and in debt so heavy thanks to this idiot we'll not live to see it better. That is for most of us here on this forum, we are about 60 years too late to see the nation as it should be.

Yes, that's exactly what will happen. It takes years for a case to work it's way to the Supreme Court. We need to keep electing Republicans, weak though they are, in order to keep the SC honest.

Why do you suppose the Supreme Court exempted US military academies from the ban on affirmative action? Any thoughts?

I haven't read Justice Roberts' opinion. He refers to this special case of the military only in a footnote [4]. It must mean military representatives weighed in with information during the trial also. A pity he didn't elaborate why he agreed with them.

[4] The United States as amicus curiae contends that race-based admissions programs further compelling interests at our Nation’s military academies. No military academy is a party to these cases, however, and none of the courts below addressed the propriety of race-based admissions systems in that context. This opinion also does not address the issue, in light of the potentially distinct interests that military academies may present.

West Point is so poor at this stage they stooped low enough to allow communist to apply. There was a time long ago when all appointments were by Political Representatives and no questionable person was accepted. Even foreign nationals are present in our West Point ranks. I think it is a bit too late to worry about the academies with so many criminals in our government. It all floats downhill, take a look at the present Chairman of the Chiefs Miley "I called the Chinese and gave them a Heads Up !!! ". He should have been hung, what do people think this guy would do if a war started. You better hope we have someone more Patriotic, but it does show how corrupt an entire federal government can become with pervs and thieves in the highest offices. Today we use our young military people as cannon fodder with the leaders more concerned about crumbling some mud hut at the cost of our men lives. After WWII we built the strongest Army in the world and equipped it with the most modern war fighting equipment. Little of it was used in Afghanistan or Iraq and the order of the day was breech doors. About two or three leveled mud huts using air would have made that decision to risk lives of our men a no starter. Then I guess we have to look at who the leaders were then.

One owned half of the oil industry in Kuwait, the other, the son was a guy who was given preferential treatment and not drafted but he went to the Air National Guard to keep him safe and something to brag about when he ran for president. Never served a day in the Vietnam War. John Kerry was there for 6 months and he was there with privilege to start his book of achievements so he could run for president. He was close to those Kennedy's and spent his summers as a young man sailing with JFK and his family members. 6 months was long enough for him to write himself a handful of decorations simply because as a boat captain on a little river patrol boat he was the person who approved awards.

After the Navy he appeared in congress crying out loud like a little bitch that he was, threw his handful of garbage medals into the River and dressed like a hobo while he sat there like someone who was a hero and so heart broken to have participated in the war. He never saw the war much less fought in it, a typical democrat liar. He lived on a nice air conditioned barge. Should it be any surprise to see his actions the past 40 years proving just how sorry he really is. Another one I would like to out live by one day.
