This is not a long video. An attorney discusses a new law in Tennessee that would bar anyone taking one or more of a list of medications from possessing a gun, and talks about the possible repercussions.
This has actually been happening in other states as well, especially the states that have legalized marijuana. Once you get a prescription for legal cannabis, you lose your right to own a weapon like a rifle or pistol is most states where it is sold. It is part of how they push everything on the people. They first target shooters who have some form of mental illness, and explain that we need to control who can be mentally fit to own a gun. None of us want mentally ill people running around with guns and shooting people, so this is an easy sell. Once they can do that, then they can decide what medications should be on the list for disqualifying a person from legally owning a gun, and many of the veterans are put on those kinds of medications, usually for depression, or something similar, but even pain medication can fit the qualifications. This is similar to what we were talking about in the thread about legal euthanasia happening. Once it is legal at all, then it starts down the slippery slope of more and more reasons why people can be euthanized.
Maine passed its medical marijuana law in 2009 and have since legalized it for recreational use, and the relationship between smoking marijuana and gun rights has not been made clear to the public. I personally know people who smoke pot medically and/or recreationally, yet hunt every year. I would be willing to bet that most people who smoke pot won't know that their guns are illegal until they are arrested. Maine Gun Rights Guide for Medical Cannabis Patients I am fairly certain that something similar will be true of the Tennessee prescription drug laws.
