I have just begun this book. So well-written, I suspected some characters to have been actual Klan members; search seems to deny that, so, while it's a historical novel of moving proportions, it appears fiction. But, no doubt, the events surely happened in a similar fashion. My eyes were opened to facts regarding the death penalty and the civil rights movement which I never thought about on my own, even though I've only reached about page 100. Has anyone read this work?
