During Senate testimony, the Director of the ATF says he cannot define an Assault Weapon because he is not a firearms expert. Does that sound like a similar statement made by a Supreme Court nominee? Anyway, the ATF director is totally behind banning assault weapons but he cannot define what they are. Does that make sense to anyone? Link
In February 2007, Representative McCarthy, (D) from New York, introduced the Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007 to reauthorize the expired Federal Assault Weapons Ban. Tucker Carlson interviewed her on the specifics of the legislation she sponsored: "That shoulder thing that goes up" has been a phrase of derision among knowledgeable adults ever since.
LOL - "That thing that goes up." Her mind was on an entirely different topic. Anyway, we always have "Know Nothings" making laws.
It makes perfect sense, since the push is to ban all weapons. Any weapon used in an assault is an assault weapon. If they don't define terms then they are open to interpretation by the judges and rulers.
Can’t remember if I’ve posted this here before, an old but clear and excellent discussion of the motivations of our government clowns. You can start at about the 6:30 minute mark if you only want to hear about why the government wants to ban so called assault weapons. The whole video is good though, IMO.
