When we traveled around a lot of Australia ( in our caravan ) between 2004 ~ 2006 we visited a place in the middle of nowhere in Northern Territory called kings canyon .
It’s in the red dirt desert very dry and arid , and wild camels roam wild , however there was back then ….a camel farm where they went out a caught young camels ( tourist attraction camel rides ) the day we was there they caught a young white camel it was snorting and kicking and spiting in the heavy steel yard it was in ..

Kings canyon is a fascinating place https://ulurutoursaustralia.com.au/attractions/kings-canyon/,we climbed the side of mountain and walked around the top of it which was flat ….and had waves in the rock like gentle waves and seashells embedded in the top which is …….The walls of the canyon reach heights ranging from 330 to 490 feet (100 to 150 meters) above Kings Creek. The canyon is composed almost entirely of a type of sedimentary rock called sandstone.

This is nowhere near the sea ( it’s in the desert ) so how did the seashells get there …..I wonder

"Camels are feral in Australia. Farmers are in battle continually to manage devastation caused by camels. Camels are aggressive and territorial animal. They destroy fences and water troughs. Camels compete for valuable vegetation and stops cattle gaining access to water troughs. Farmers are constantly having to battle losses as a result. One known effective way to cull camels is by aerial shooting using chopper. But the price tag is high. Hunters are able to assist by culling them on foot and vehicles."

"Back in the early 1900’s, most cigarette smokers rolled their own cigarettes. There were many brands of tobacco from which smokers could choose, and it was assumed that there would be no national market for pre-rolled and packaged cigarettes. This was the case until 1913, when R.J. Reynolds released Camel cigarettes."

"Prior to releasing the now-famous brand, R.J. Reynolds developed a massive advertising campaign for the cigarettes. The months-long “The Camels are Coming” campaign raised public interest and built anticipation for Camels. This led to the brand becoming an instant hit. Originally priced at 10 cents for 20 cigarettes, Camels were quick to become popular across the country."

"By 1917 there are now 3 national brands of cigarettes on the US market: Lucky Strike, Camel cigarettes and Chesterfield. In 1921, RJ Reynolds spends a whooping $8 million in advertising, mainly on Camel cigarettes. They also launch the highly successful “I’d Walk a Mile for a Camel” ad slogan. By 1923, Camel cigarettes control 45% of the U.S. cigarette market! The following year, Phillip Morris begins to push Marlboro cigarettes as a woman’s cigarette that is a “Mild as May”!

"By 1930, the most popular brands were Lucky Strike, Camel cigarettes, Chesterfield, Old Gold and Raleigh. By 1940, Camel cigarettes take the lead as the most popular brands were Camel cigarettes, Lucky Strike, Chesterfield, Raleigh and Old Gold. By 1970, Camel cigarettes dropped off the top five as the most popular brands were Winston, Pall Mall, Marlboro, Salem and Kool." (READ MORE)

I've visited the cigarette factories in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I still have my Joe Camel key ring.

(As an aside, I am reminded of the grammatical horror at "Winston tastes good like a cigarette should.")
