Our laundrywoman who comes twice a week brings along her 2-year old granddaughter. We have 2 housemaids so taking care of that toddler is not a problem. One time when it was a holiday and I was at home, I saw the toddler playing with a tablet. She is adept with the gadget because she can play the nursery rhyme that she wants. It's really amazing for such a young child to be using the tablet. But on second thought, isn't it too early for her to be using a gadget? I'm afraid that it will affect her eyes. We may be having a new generation with poor eyesight. Worse, their mindset would be conditioned to apps like what is happening now to teenagers as if they are slaves to technology. I'm sure glad to be born when the digital technology was not even a dream yet. At least I had a normal childhood.
My youngest 3 grandsons have found a good balance. They too could play games on an iPad or iPhone at age 2-3 and they amazed me at how quickly they learned how to do things. A lot of the game apps the youngest played were good at teaching. On the other hand these boys are all involved in different sports all year round and ride bikes in their neighborhood, etc. They go the park, go swimming, etc. they are very active...but any down time and they are on their devices.
In fact this is a pic from last week after they received their first stripe on their belt in the martial arts class they are taking. I'll be watching them next month for about 5 days while they're parents taking a mini vacation. Hope they don't try any moves on me, lol.
