To our great relief, next year my wife will no longer be bound to this system under threat of fine: she will be 65 in December! "Count it as another nail in ObamaCare’s coffin: Humana, one of the country’s top insurers, announced Thursday that it’s pulling out of ObamaCare exchange plans in all but a few states next year." "This follows the exit from the exchanges of such other giants as Cigna and UnitedHealth Group, also after outsized losses." "Meanwhile, the Obama Justice Department is moving to block health-insurer mergers — including an Anthem-Cigna deal as well as Aetna’s bid to buy Humana. Why? As The Post’s Josh Kosman reports, the “move would be a blow to the president’s state-focused ObamaCare.” http://nypost.com/2016/07/24/the-latest-nail-in-obamacares-coffin/
This whole Medicare was written by the pharmaceutical companies to benefit the pharmaceutical companies. That is why they were to pass it into law without reading it. It was set up to fail right from the start. They want all the people who cannot afford medical service to bankrupt the middle class.
What are you saying, Martin? Anyway, here are my views regarding healthcare in the US. I've seen healthcare in Hungary and I know Canadians and the ins and outs of their healthcare. Before Obamacare I only had health insurance through my husbands jobs, then in Hungary it was very cheap for me in Dollars and my husband got on their healthcare system which is free...but If you paid you got better treatment. We practically had our own private dr that we gave about $100 month to. Meds were also cheap. My husband was on lasix and it was about 20 cents...of course this was cheap for us but even on an average Hungarian workers salary it was cheap. When we came back here, my husband was older than me and on medicare, I didn't have insurance but also had nothing wrong with me....just needed thyroid scripts. Then when obamacare came out, I wasn't poor enough for the free ins. I did qualify for a lower cost per month one that sucked and I refused to get it and got by paying cash for drs and a few blood tests, an x-ray and my meds. I never got fined. Now I have medicare part A and B and a supplemental and so far I haven't paid anything that I've had done. My meds although covered aren't really that different in price then they were before. About $5 for generics. Canada has a pretty good healthcare system except for the longer wait time for an appt. and there too if you want better, you can pay out of pocket. The UKs healthcare sounds good too. So my point is either go with socialized medicine which is free But paid for in taxes, but not this half assed obamacare that only worked for the really poor who would have Medicaid anyway. All this is off the top of my head, so some facts might not be accurate but it's a rough guide. Oh, forgot to add that while in Hungary I had a ganglion cyst on my elbow and needed an MRI and that cost me $35 but I did have to wait a couple weeks to get my appt.
