As everyone knows, there are numerous LARGE nationwide gangs in the USA, BUT the most dangerous gang is a group that calls itself MS-13 (mara salvatrucha.) which started in Central America. They are known to be EXTREMELY violent. It is not unusual for them to use machettes to kill their enemies. They get most of their money from drug importing and dealing AND human slavery. They kidnap young girls and force them into prostitution.

It's hard to believe that we, the most powerful nation in the world, does not have the will power to destroy them.
We have the entire DEA and FBI to do the job and the CIA outside our own borders And yet MS-13 continues to grow ever more powerful.

No matter what political organisation is in power (DEM or Rep) it would seem that they are NOT UP TO THE TASK.

    WHY ??????

These agencies are under the control of Democrats who have no interest in controlling our borders or the people who come across them, or enforcing actual laws, for that matter.

    Maybe yes. Maybe no.

However, when Trump was in office I don't recall him calling out all Federal forces to deal with MS-13.

BUT, what ever party is in office, our country is still plagued by ultra violent gangs AND a tsunami of deadly drugs.

Side note: the President of The Philippines unleashed the police and told them to shoot to kill drug dealers.

He made a large effort to control our borders and was met with huge resistance from the Democrats and some within his own Party. With controlled borders, domestic MS-13 problems could be more easily dealt with. Without a controlled border, domestic efforts are doomed to failure. Constructive improvement in our drug problem should also begin with controlled borders.

If we don't control our borders, other efforts would be the equivalent of trying to remove rainwater from the house without first repairing the roof.

Yes, I remember when Pres. Trump put up the wall. Unfortunately, it was never finished. In some places, the wall just ends, and a cow could walk around it.

    Depressing ain't it ?

Let's leave politics out of this discussion and let's take a look at how we might go about destroying a criminal gang .

Shall we begin at the absolutely lowest level ... street dealers ?

    Step # !.
As we all know, it is NOT hard to find a drug dealer. The streets in some parts of the city are full of them. Buyers drive up, stop, and exchange cash for the drugs which the dealer is carrying OR has very close by.

It would not be difficult for the law enforcement agency to select agents who look like they are "users". No arrests would be made at this point. The goal would be to build up a series of drug sales and when the law enforcement agency had a long list of videos showing drug sales. Only then would an arrest be made.

    Step # 2
With a serious list of charges facing him, pressure could be brought to bear to get him to name the person he is buying from.
My idea is to collect a great number of dealers AND the one they buy from BEFORE acting.

    To be continued...

Working from the street then UP is only one avenue to destroying a criminal gang.

I also believe that we could have large rewards for turning in drug dealers, especially on those who deal in large quantities. In many cases, the police ALSO impound LARGE amounts of cash from dealers. That cash could be reward.

Uh….I remember quite vividly that Donald Trump’s administration labeled the gang as a terrorist group and was picking up and deporting anyone affiliated with MS-13 and some were criminally indicted here in the U.S. and also imprisoned here.
Just to avoid any conflict of memories, I found several sites dedicated to what the Trump administration was doing against the cartels and MS-13 and decided to post one just to clear things up a bit.

Like the destruction of ISIS during his administration, MS-13 was well on the way of being destroyed here in the U.S. but unfortunately, the Biden administration opened the borders and here we are again with major crimes being committed by the gang.

One day outside a barbershop, I saw a fellow with a huge "M13" on his forehead. The chief of police cleared that town of most gang members over the next couple of years. Neighboring towns absorbed them. True story.

New gang members - M13 and others - are foregoing tattoos in order not to be turned back at various borders. A lot of them are back in operation. Sad story.
