Years ago I listened to some conspiracy pundits theorizing about various things which they had tied together. Among those things were the following. On our driver's licenses, in every state, our names are spelled in all capital letters. Accordingly that makes the holder a 'strawman', so-called because it is not actually us as real people whose legal names appear on the license. That is not your name on the license but a legal fiction. These people claimed that states have no right to issue licenses to drive and that traveling by any means is a natural right. Add to that the odd fact that representatives of the Catholic church were signatories to several treaties with American Indians along with peace treaties among formerly warring European nations and countries in the Americas, including the Treaty Of Paris. There were more items like this. When they got to the part where the Roman Empire never ended and that the Pope was another Roman Emperor they lost me. Now Sarah Westall has had an interview with a man who seems to know whereof he speaks and saying many of the same things along with connecting all to the Federal Reserve Bank. Very interesting and more plausibly presented than what I encountered those years ago. https://sarahwestall.com/ucc-filing...-former-chief-justice-of-the-cherokee-nation/ Biography of Dr. Three Rivers Dr. Three Rivers is a native of Cherokee and the Hawaiian Nation. He is a former Chief Justice of the Cherokee Nation, PhD in International Law, a doctorate in traditional indigenous medicine, a masters in Child Psychology and a bachelors in Music Education. Sorry, @Dwight Ward but this sounds like Wokeness taken to the extreme. I don't believe the case of the letters in your name or your signature determine validity. States cannot legally restrict your ability to travel (although they did during Covid when laws didn't matter), they do have the right to tax and restrict the means of travel. That is, you can walk anywhere you want, but you don't have the right to drive or fly anywhere you wish to go. Roads are needed for much travel, and, if you travel overland without the use of a road and stay on public land, you can travel wherever you wish. The idea that driver's licenses are illegal came out of the Sovereign Citizen Movement of earlier decades and has been shown to be invalid in court case after court case...unless the courts are also illegal, albeit they are defined in the U.S. Constitution, an advantage of having a written constitution.
I remember the Sovereign Citizen Movement. Some of what they said was plausible and some not. Where did I say I was buying into all of it? I said "Very interesting and more plausibly presented than what I encountered those years ago." Rejecting every facet of what these folks are saying without even listening to the interview is less than I expected of you, Don.
I must have missed the part about the pope owning us. Once again I have wandered into the conspiracy section so off I go.
I remember reading about this, and it does have something to do with the all-caps spelling of the person’s name vs. the regular spelling. I have to find where i was reading about this before I can comment further. I do not remember it having anything to do with the Pope though.
I think waterways are also free for travel and fishing. I had someone claim he had a right to fish my pond as a creek passes through my property by the pond (a culvert allows overflow water to creek). I corrected him that as long as he stood in the creek, he could walk and fish in it but the second he got onto the bank, I could call the police.
That all depends on the state. Here banks to the "mean high water level" are public. That mostly applies to areas affected by tides, but can affect bodies of water whose level fluctuates.
My temper got the better of me yesterday. I apologize to anyone who was on the wrong end of that. I'm over it.
Here is a little more information about the Act of 1871, which I believe is part of what you were writing about when you started this thread, @Dwight Ward . This adds a little more information about what happened back then , as well as what President Trump is working on doing for America now.
