    Hollywoodland Sign
    [IMG]
Today, this icon sign now reads as ‘Hollywood’ and we often think of the glam and fame that surrounds it. Yet, this sign was created in 1923 as an advertisement for a local housing development, advertised as a "superb environment without excessive cost, on the Hollywood side of the hills."

Each letter was 30 feet wide and 50 feet high, with about 4,000 light bulbs overall. Only intended to stay up for 18 months, the rise of American cinema in the Golden Age of Hollywood turned the sign into a recognized classic.

In 1978, there was a public campaign to restore the landmark, led by Hugh Hefner. Nine donors gave $27,777.77 each to sponsor replacement letters. The new letters were 45 feet tall and ranged from 31 to 39 feet wide. Below is a list of the donors:

    Actors are Real People

"Despite what the fine print on your TV ads might say, actors are real people. Truly, they are! Unfortunately, I am continuously amazed that a percentage of the population treat celebrities as though they are not."

"Actors (whether on screen or stage) have hopes and dreams, family and friends, ups and downs, and yes, even political opinions about the country and world in which they live. I’ve heard it stated on more than one occasion that “celebrities” shouldn’t complain about all the media attention or lack of privacy because it comes with the profession. That’s preposterous, ridiculous, and a load of…[bleep]." (READ MORE)

Agree to a degree. When your so famous,if you can not go outside your own home for fear of reporters and groupies, photographers, then it is being carried too far. No one should be allowed to use certain types of cameras, and microphones that invade your privacy inside your home, car, boat etc.

Apparently dozens of suicides in hollywood alone were white washed - cleaned, edited
to remove news when they died that they had earlier in life
sold their souls , made a contract with, the devil to succeed. Years ago there were many references found, now there aren't any I could find re hollywood, comedians, actors and actresses.

Michael Jackson's Pepsi commercial that never aired with the demo track "Price Of Fame" and re-recorded lyrics. Not all shots are present in the cut. The song was switched for the final version of the commercial and released with the title: "The Chase".
