“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.” Theodore Roosevelt 1907
Wellll, if I can be Frank about it... as honesty is the best policy, everyone should strive to be Frank
@Bill Boggs get out of that corner, and join the rest of us misfits!!! But, I'll surely remember where your corner is located just in case it is needed again. Bossy aren't I.
Like Ken said the law of the country has to be based on Christianity if the majority are Christian. That has been the bases of the New World and Europe. When we say Muslins are peaceful people well that is when they are the minority they are quite peaceful. As the numbers change than the attitude also changes. 40 million people died at the hands of the muslins when they peacefully entered Pakistan and India taking their religion of peace. The countries that the muslins are the majority have brutal dictatorships the only way they can control them. When you remove that brutal dictatorship you have constant war. Just look at the middle east the US has never seen peace after removing the ruling class in those counties. Once the Muslim number reach the tipping point these so call bringers of peace will bring chaos and death. Sorry to bring all this good news for you
He didn't exactly say that. And the viewpoint is flat-out idiotic. If it were all about 'majority rules,' we'd be a lot worse off than we are.
@sanoica I made a quick search for an old book, Out of Africa. The only one I found is by John Gunther copyright 1955. Can find it on Amazon starting at $ 1.99. I remembered having this book back in the early '60. There may have been cone other by that title by an author who died. The one I'm referring too also wrote "The Honey Badger." Nope, another check. Robert Ruark's Africa books carry another title.
Thank you so much for checking that. I am positive the title was Inside Africa, rather than your title of Out of Africa. Frank
