My mom taught sewing at the Singer store in Hawaii and she got me this
    for Christmas in 1968.

It's made by Singer and was portable, played on batteries or A/C plug in.

Loved that thing; put the speakers on each side of my pillow and
listen to that 'hippy' music till I fell asleep...

Oh, WOW, @Gloria Mitchell , I am SO with you on that memory ! We used to go out for early morning horseback rides a lot in the summer, and it was one of my favorite things to do.
Usually 1-2 of my friends who had a horse would come over (I had a corral out in the back yard), and we would “camp out” in the yard, and wake up just when it would start getting daylight. Sometimes, we had something to eat, but usually we had packed sandwiches the night before and we didn’t eat them until later in the morning.
By the time that the sun came up, we would be far out in the hills somewhere, and sometimes , we would startle a deer or two. Since I lived near a large lake, we loved watching the sun coming up over Lake Pend O’reille and the Cabinet mountains in the background.
By the time it was getting hot out, we were usually headed home again, and often stopped at the local hamburger stand for a dozen of their fresh-made and warm banana doughnuts .......oh my gosh .......those were SO good !

This picture is not at sunrise, but we used to ride up into the mountains behind these horseback riders.

Love it! I have heard it said that Hank would play long after the show was supposed to be over if people kept asking him to come back. They don't make them like that anymore, either.

Painting days at our house when I was a kid, which seemed to occur fairly often, especially in the living room. You could make sheet and furniture forts.

In the past, I didn’t know I was actually fond of things until they drastically changed into:
Men are women and women are men, entertainers are politicians and politicians are entertainers and socio-political commentary is now the news of the day.
