The neighbors where my parents lived in Florida had a large flock of guineas. One would start up and the whole bunch would chime in, even in the middle of the night. It came in waves. I don't think it takes much to start them off.
They are noisy I guess, but if you have enough land I understand they roost in trees so keep the trees away from the house or make the trees near the house unpleasant for them. Then they will annoy the neighbors...if you have any.
I am no expert as I personally have not had any, but I have had a number of friends in the lower 48 who have them around as guardians and tick control.
If there are humans who have mental illnesses, I've often speculated there must be animals that way also. All it would take is one paranoid guinea to cause a lot of constant noise. lol
I had Lymm for a few days, doc said it was typical bullseye, gave me the strongest antibiotics known. Must have worked cause I'm ok and still kicking. He caught it within 3 day period. Had a perfect bullseye on my scalp.
It was a Family doc in 2010 or so. I went there for yearly physical and the bite had just come up day before,He said I was very lucky to have mentioned it and treated it early.He said perfect bullseye.
I take a walking stick with me when going through the woods and beat back the brush to knock any ticks off their game before I pass.
Ticks have not been an issue in my life. The main thing that has helped me fight this depression anxiety are the walks and cutting vines. Now everytime I go on my walk I come back finding little seed trics on me for a couple days. I'm so frustrated ,if I ever needed an outlet it is now. I need a dame hazmet suit just to walk on trial now. I wish I could cry but I can't. Too much area to treat of course. Maybe cover myself in saran wrap!!! I am sick of insects, chiggers ,tics. I just thought of this while typing, maybe I'll just use one "out-fit" to walk and clear in. Spray it down good with Adams Dog Flea,Tic Spray. I'm hitting the trail so see yall when I get back.
